The seasons surrounding Matsumoto Castle
The expression of the Matsumoto Castle changes with each season.
Spring brings the cherry blossoms, summer the chartreuse new buds, in fall the beautiful fall foliage, and in winter snowy canyons and the Northern Japan Alps accentuate the castle.
The moat which surrounds the castle is home to carp, swans and ducks, but depending on the season also hosts migrant birds such as kingfishers, brown hawk -owls and other various varieties of wildlife.
